About the Team

Dave Metz - Team Leader
Dave is presently serving as vice-mayor of the City of Staunton having been elected to city council in 2000.  This is a part time position and city council meets twice per month for approximately 4 hours. In addition, Dave is a licensed realtor who helps buyers and sellers of real estate come together with the contractual details of these transactions. Dave is married to Deborah, and they have 2 grown daughters.  They formerly started and ran a small business for almost 30 years that rented equipment for small contractors in addition to the party and special events industry.  In his free time, Dave enjoys traveling, ham radio operation, and computers. He received a business degree from Purdue University, and a Masters in Business Administration from James Madison University.

Leslie Boughers
Leslie lives in Bristol, Tennessee where she works for Bristol Tennessee Essential Services – an electric utility that also provides cable, Internet and telephone services. She is the Communications Specialist responsible for company publications, advertising and marketing and has been with the company for four years. She graduated with a bachelor of arts degree from East Tennessee State University in 2008. In her free time, Leslie enjoys photography, reading, wakeboarding and being outdoors. Being from Bristol gives her plenty of opportunity to enjoy the outdoors with the beautiful Appalachian Mountains and three lakes at her doorstep. Bristol is also named the Birthplace of Country Music and home to NASCAR’s fastest half mile track – Bristol Motor Speedway.

Aaron Harris
Born and raised in Southwest Virginia and a graduate of Radford University with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting, Aaron has over thirteen years of experience in residential and commercial property management as well as residential and commercial property development.   She has worked specifically with developments and leasing projects in Downtown Blacksburg, including Kent Square and the most recent project being the Turner Street Project. Aaron currently serves as an Ambassador to the Montgomery County Chamber of Commerce, Board Member to Downtown Blacksburg, Inc. and Vice President to the New River Valley Apartment Council. Aaron also serves as a volunteer in various Montgomery County non-profit organizations.  Aaron resides in Montgomery County with her two sons, Nolan and Preston.

Andrea Wright
Andrea obtained her B.A. in Conflict Analysis and Resolution with a concentration in International Conflict from George Mason University. She currently works for Frederick County, Virginia supervising offenders for the court system. Her work also includes conducting investigations of recently incarcerated individuals to assist in giving bond recommendations to area judges and trying to effectively divert inmates out of jail who do not pose a risk to the safety of society. Andrea also mediates for the courts part-time and volunteers monthly at her local juvenile detention center teaching the effects and consequences of using alcohol and drugs. Andrea is a wife and mother of two sons, Daniel age 10 and Halston age 3. She enjoys spending time with her family and friends, spending time in the kitchen cooking and baking, exercising, reading, watching films and traveling. She has a passion for learning, creativity, justice and truth.

Joey Wilkerson
Joey, originally from Southwest Virginia, has spent the past 10 years working in a variety of roles at colleges and universities in the Commonwealth.  He currently lives in Danville,VA working in fundraising at Averett University, a small private liberal arts college.  Joey, a two time graduate of RadfordUniversity and a graduate of Averett University, has also spent teaching and working in student affairs and leadership development.  In addition to these roles on campus, he has been active in a variety of professional organizations, including volunteering with the Virginia Association of Student Personnel Administrators and spending several years as a leadership facilitator for the National Collegiate AthleticAssociation (NCAA).  Joey has been active in the Danville community, volunteering with several community organizations and events.  In his free time he enjoys spending time with friends and family, college sports, and kicking back on the beach.
